Accuracy

AI you can audit

Most people worry that AI will make up numbers. So BoringAccounts is built to show its work and to stop when it isn't sure.

Five rules the AI follows

  1. Show the source. Every draft links to the exact bank line and the part of the bill it read (outlined on the document).
  2. Explain the choice. Each draft says why it picked the ledger, party and tax treatment ("matched GSTIN and invoice number; vendor previously booked to Software expenses").
  3. Flag, don't guess. When the bill is unclear, amounts don't add up, or the GSTIN doesn't match, the draft is marked "needs review" with the reason.
  4. People approve. Nothing reaches your books until someone you've authorised approves it.
  5. Everything is logged. Drafts, edits, approvals and rejections go into a hash-chained change log, sealed daily.

What we check before a draft reaches you

  • Totals: taxable value + tax = invoice total; statement running balance.
  • GST: GSTIN format and checksum, place of supply, IGST vs CGST/SGST, presence in GSTR-2B.
  • Duplicates: same supplier + invoice number, or same bank line used twice.
  • TDS: section and threshold for the payee this year.
  • Company: which of your companies the card or account belongs to.

What we don't do

We don't post entries by ourselves, move money, send emails, file returns or use your data to train shared models.

Questions

What happens when the AI is wrong?

You change the draft before approving. You can save the correction as a rule for that vendor or narration, so the next one is drafted your way.

Can my CA see what the AI did?

Yes. The Evidence Pack and the change log show every draft, who approved it and what changed.
